Activity description

1. Heraklion Archaeological Museum.
The day begins with a visit to the legendary Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, featuring the most extensive Minoan collection worldwide. Ten halls showcase rare exhibits such as golden jewelry, exquisite ceramics, unique vessels and containers, and, of course, the Minoan frescoes, those unique creations that express a pandemonium of color, movement and symbolize a tribute to life itself, are only of the few elements that make up for the oldest frescoes ever found in Europe.

2. The Palace of Knossos.
Next, you will visit the mythical palace of King Minos, the legendary son of Zeus and Europa, who ruled in the prehistoric era on his magical island.

3. Scalarea Estate (Boutari Winery Crete).
Finally, we conclude the tour by visiting the winery, as Cretan wines are a top product which has been increasingly exported from Crete in recent years. The indigenous grape varieties have been producing their unique flavor and aroma for the past 4,000 years, and are sometimes blended with some of the most famous grape varieties in the world. Includes A great introduction in Cretan and Greek wines catered to you by Hosts as you follow a path through the vineyards, the Production Area and the Cellar of the winery. Following the tour you will enjoy a Wine Tasting of 5 different labels by Boutari Winery, from vineyards all over Greece, thus discovering several Indigenous grapes of Greece, accompanied with a complimentary amuse bouche.
