Experience the Ultimate Via Ferrata in Konitsa (short route)
A route of moderate difficulty, lasting 3.00 to 3.30 hours, guided by certified and experienced athletes – ideal for beginners with average physical condition and no fear of heights.
DESCRIPTION
Via Ferrata is a unique activity with an extreme character that does not require prior experience. The required physical condition is moderate, but the absence of fear of heights is a prerequisite.
It is a “climbing path” carved on a steep slope, equipped with steel cables, iron ladders, steps, etc. In the most exposed parts, access is ensured with the use of special equipment.
Via Ferrata is located at the Aoos River, next to Konitsa, starting from the old bridge of the town. The approach is easy, following a sloping path with safety on the steel cables. As we ascend to the mountain tops, the view becomes more and more breathtaking.
Impressive ascents follow on metal steps fixed to the vertical rock. At the highest point, the view is panoramic, featuring the Aoos River gorge, the peak of Gamila at 2,497 meters, Tymfi, the Aoos canyon, the monastery of Stomiou, and the historic bridge of Konitsa.
We encounter the monastery of Ag. Varvara and complete the journey with a 40-minute hike, ending at the historic bridge of Konitsa.
ON THE ROUTE, WE WILL ENCOUNTER
The single-arch bridge of Konitsa
The Aoos River Gorge
